The technology

A vision model, pointed at one narrow question.

Vanity uses a vision-capable AI model to read two photographs at once. It is not asked who anyone is, or how anyone looks. It is asked a single question: what visible styling choices separate these two presentations, and what would it take to move from one to the other?

What it looks at

Twelve dimensions of presentation.

Hairstyle

Shape, parting, volume, how it is worn day to day.

Hair length & styling

Length through the sides and top, and how much product or shaping is involved.

Facial hair & grooming

Presence, length, edges, and how maintained the overall grooming reads.

Clothing style

The genre of the wardrobe — tailored, workwear, minimal, classic, sporting.

Fit & silhouette

Where seams land, how much room garments carry, the overall outline.

Colour palette

The range in play, how much contrast, warm against cool.

Accessories

Watches, jewellery, belts, bags, scarves — presence and restraint.

Eyewear

Frame shape, weight, colour, and how it sits with everything else.

Overall aesthetic

The impression the whole assembly creates.

Formality

Where the look sits between fully casual and fully formal.

Photo presentation

Framing, lighting, background, posture and expression.

Fabric & texture

Weight, drape and surface, where the photograph shows it.

Guardrails

What we refuse to do.

These are not settings. They are written into every request Vanity makes, and they cannot be switched off from the admin screen.

No facial recognition

Vanity never attempts to identify anyone, and will not tell you whether two photographs show the same person.

No sensitive inference

It does not infer race, ethnicity, religion, health, age, sexual orientation, politics or anything similar from an image.

No scoring

There is no attractiveness rating, no ranking, and no comparison of who looks better.

No body advice

Vanity never suggests changing your body. Every recommendation is about a choice you can change tomorrow.

No invention

Where the photograph does not show something, it says so rather than guessing.

Inside a report

Seven sections, every time.

01

Current Presentation

A neutral, respectful description of the style choices visible in your photograph — never a judgement of you.

02

Reference Look

The major visual characteristics of your inspiration image, broken into named attributes.

03

Key Differences

Area by area: what yours does, what the reference does, and why that difference matters visually.

04

Recommended Changes

Specific changes with instructions, each tagged for effort and for how much visible impact it carries.

05

Quick Wins

Free, low or moderate-cost changes that make an immediate difference.

06

Longer-Term Transformation

Bigger wardrobe, grooming and hair changes, with a realistic timeframe against each.

07

Shopping & Services

Product categories and kinds of professional — barbers, stylists, opticians, tailors — with what to ask them for.

Try it on your own two photographs.
